Snub The Usual Luxury Sedans And Go For A Rare Aston Martin Lagonda Taraf

Every Aston Martin is special in its own right, but back in 2015, the automaker took things a step further with the Lagonda Taraf. Created as a sort of revival of their Lagonda sedan from the 1970s and 80s, it was similar to what Mercedes did with Maybach, only much more exclusive at around $1 million a piece. Aston only made 120 of these ultra-luxury sedans, and now one is up for sale.

The Lagonda Taraf is listed for sale at Amian Exclusive Cars, a dealership in Cologne, Germany that specializes exclusively in exotic and rare vehicles. The car’s odometer reads just 3,200 miles (5,150 km), although we figure a vehicle of this caliber isn’t really the type to have been driven around much in the first place.

The exterior is finished in a subtle olive green-like color, and its styling is supposed to be reminiscent of the old Lagondas, with elements like the roofline, front fascia, and rear lighting. Interestingly, while not a performance car, all of the sedan’s body panels are made of carbon fiber, yet even with the lightweight material it still manages to tip the scales at a hefty 4,398 lbs (1,995 kg).

Inside, the Lagonda Taraf shares many components with other Aston Martins like the Rapide on which it’s based, only with added luxury, quality, and amenities to make sure it lives up to that $1 million price tag. The interior upholstery is done in various shades of brown, beige, and tan, and the dark wood trim combined with bronze metalwork helps to pull it all together.

Under the hood lies a hand-built 6.0-liter naturally aspirated V12 delivering 540 hp (547 PS / 401 kW) and 465 lb-ft (630 Nm) of torque that are sent to the rear wheels by way of an eight-speed automatic transmission. That enables the Taraf to go from 0-62 mph (100 km/h) in 4.4 seconds on its way to a 195 mph (314 km/h) top speed.
