A 1969 Pontiac GTO Convertible once owned by actor Val Kilmer is heading to auction later this week.

The American classic will be offered up for sale by Mecum Auctions during Monterey Car Week and is painted in a simple shade of black with a white soft top that really helps it stand out. The listing doesn’t go into detail about the car’s ownership history, other than confirming that it was formerly owned by Kilmer and has undergone a frame-off rotisserie restoration.

As part of its restoration, the frame was powder-coated and it was fitted with a new Air Ride suspension system and upgraded brakes at all four corners. Power comes courtesy of a numbers-matching 40 cubic-inch Pontiac V8 that drives the rear wheels through a rebuilt 700R transmission and a Ford 9-inch rear differential.

The exterior looks absolutely stunning, aided by the $4,500 custom wheels that match the design of the original wheels but are slightly larger and now clad in BF Goodrich tires with red accents.

A look inside the cabin reveals new front bucket seats, a custom-built radio, brushed metal accents across the dashboard and center console, a modern Vintage Air system, and power top controls. The panel to adjust the air suspension is hidden in the glovebox.

The listing fails to mention how many miles the car has on the clock nor when the restoration was performed. Nevertheless, the Pontiac is expected to sell for between $120,000 and $140,000.
