At the 2021 Florence Biennale, Mazzanti Automobili launched a new variant of the Evanta hypercar called the Pura. The new model looks the same but it is lighter and more powerful compared to its predecessor. It will be produced in limited numbers in Tuscany, with owners having access to plenty of customization options.

The first time we heard from Mazzanti was with the original Evanta, launched back in 2013 as an Italian supercar with an American hearth. The more powerful and focused Evanta 771 and Evanta Millecavali variants followed in 2016, eventually evolving to the Evanta 781 and Millecavali R that are available today alongside the new Evanta Pura.

The Evanta Pura which is the new base model in the lineup, looks identical to the original but features a series of updates. Most importantly, it weighs 1,290 kg (2,844 pounds) which is 90 kg (198 pounds) less than its predecessor. The GM Corvette-sourced supercharged 6.2-liter V8 produces 750 hp (560 kW / 761 PS) and 910 Nm (671 lb-ft) of torque, replacing the older naturally aspirated 7.0-liter V8. Power is sent to the rear axle through a seven-speed automatic gearbox allowing a 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) in 2.9 seconds and a top speed of over 360 km/h (224 mph).

The chassis is still made of high-tensile boxed-section, frame steel combined with molybdenum chrome, while suspension consists of McPherson struts in all four corners (optionally adjustable). Stopping power is taken care of Brembo’s carbon-ceramic discs measuring 380 mm (14.9 inches) at the front with six-piston calipers at the front and 360 mm (14 inches) with four-piston calipers at the rear. The OZ Racing wheels are shod in Michelin tires measuring 255/35R19 at the front and 315/30R20 at the back.

Given that Mazzanti reportedly produces around 5 units per year, they tend to over-emphasize the “tailor-made” character of their cars. Each customer can choose the materials and colors of his/her liking with “input from leading brands in the luxury fashion sector”. As you would expect there is plenty of leather, Alcantara and carbon fiber everywhere you look inside the two-seater cabin.

Compared to the 2013 Evanta, the center console has been redesigned. It is now incorporating a larger and more modern infotainment touchscreen, with a second screen mounted on the steering wheel. Even the gear shift paddles can be modeled on the shape of the owner’s hands, while the driving position is also made according to their measurements.

Priced from $800,000

Mazzanti didn’t reveal pricing, but it’s said to start from around $800k for the cheapest Evanta Pura, going over $1.2 million for the Millecavali R flagship. What is weird is that the model appearing on the official video and pictures published a few weeks ago by Mazzanti was called the Evanta Bronze but it is now appearing as the Mazzanti Pura on their website (maybe because this specific example was Bronze).
