Elon Musk is working on his third ‘Master Plan’ for Tesla and has offered a hint as to what it will consist of.

Musk released the first Tesla Master Plan in 2006, outlining his plan for the electric automaker. The aim was to build a sports car, use the money from it to fund an affordable car, and then use that money to fund an even more affordable car.

‘Master Plan, Part Deux’ was released in 2016 and led to the creation of Powerwall and SolarCity becoming part of Tesla. It also included plans to scale up production, make Autopilot ten times safer than the average driver, and launch fleets of robotaxis. While not everything has been achieved, namely those Autopilot and robotaxi goals, Musk is shifting his focus to the next Master Plan.

Details about the new Master Plan aren’t yet known but taking to Twitter, Musk said it will call for Tesla to dramatically expand.

“Main Tesla subjects will be scaling to extreme size, which is needed to shift humanity away from fossil fuels, and AI,” he wrote. “But I will also Include sections about SpaceX, Tesla and The Boring Company.”

We’ve known for quite some time that Tesla has been eyeing dramatic growth. In 2020, Musk made the bold claim that the automaker will likely be making 20 million electric vehicles a year by 2030. That would easily make it the world’s largest car manufacturer with roughly double the annual production of Toyota and Volkswagen.

It remains uncertain what some of the future plans of SpaceX and The Boring Company are but Musk’s tweet has prompted speculation that they could be all brought together into a single umbrella company.
