Jaguar has introduced the 2023 XE and XF in Europe, which benefit from an assortment of updates.

The big news is the introduction of the 300 Sport trim, which comes equipped with the Black Pack as well as privacy glass and a contrasting gloss black roof. The XE 300 Sport rides on 20-inch dark satin grey wheels with a diamond-turned finish, while the XF Saloon and Sportbrake have 20-inch wheels with a gloss silver finish that contrast with gloss black inserts.

Inside, drivers will find metal gearshift paddles and bright alloy pedals. They’re joined by Monogram Aluminum trim in the XE 300 Sport and Satin Charcoal Ash veneers in the XF 300 Sport.

Both models are powered by a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine that develops 296 hp (221 kW / 300 PS) and 295 lb-ft (400 Nm) of torque and is paired to an eight-speed automatic transmission and a standard all-wheel drive system. This enables the XE 300 Sport to accelerate from 0-60 mph (0-96 km/h) in 5.6 seconds, while the XF 300 Sport Saloon can accomplish the same task in 5.8 seconds. The wagon is unsurprisingly slower, but not by much as the dash to 60 mph (96 km/h) takes 5.9 seconds.

Besides the new Sport trim, the 2023 XE and XF come with Amazon Alexa. On top of the usual requests, the voice assistant can respond to instructions such as “Alexa, navigate me home” and “Alexa, show me nearby coffee shops.”

Furthermore, customers in the UK and US will be able to check on and control their vehicle using the Jaguar Remote Skill on any Alexa-enabled device. This will allow users to remotely check if their doors are locked or their windows are open.

If the standard wireless Android Auto and wireless Apple CarPlay compatibility isn’t enough, the Pivi Pro infotainment system has been updated to allow for what3words navigation in a majority of markets.

The global powertrain lineup consists of three options for 2023, depending on the market. On the petrol side, there’s a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder with outputs of 247 hp (184 kW / 250 PS) and 296 hp (221 kW / 300 PS). The former comes with rear-wheel drive, while the latter boasts all-wheel drive. Diesel fans will find a 2.0-liter four-cylinder with mild-hybrid technology that produces 201 hp (150 kW / 204 PS) and is available with rear- or all-wheel drive.
