Right off the top let’s acknowledge that beauty is in the eye of the beholder. What might look stunning to one individual or even a group might be grotesque to you and that’s ok. What we’re wondering is if we can all come to a consensus as to what the best-looking SUV ever made really is. It’s a deeper question than it might sound on the surface.

Twenty years ago SUVs were largely the same, boxy, boring, and somewhat unsightly. Today, they can be svelte, athletic, rugged, posh, and sometimes all of those attributes wrapped up into one model. But that’s where the depth starts to come into play. Some folks really do believe that we’ve lost our way so to speak with regard to modern SUV design.

Take for example the new Chevy Blazer EV. It’s a snazzy-looking people mover for sure, but does it remind you of the classic Blazer in any way? Probably not. In fact, that’s one of the biggest criticisms thrown its way after Ford returned the Bronco to us and Land Rover did the same with the Defender while each stayed fairly faithful to their classic counterparts. Still, we can go deeper.

What should an SUV look like? What makes it look good? Should it be tough and aggressive looking? That ideal is certainly fitting for a vehicle initially introduced to the market as a taller, more capable, and more spacious wagon. In that case, something like the Jeep Wrangler, the Mercedes G-Wagon, or the Toyota 4Runner could be high on the list.

Of course, you might say that thanks to modern technology, the best-looking SUV should be one that’s more capable of producing an engaging driving experience on public roads. To go along with that nature you might want something that’s sleek, sexy, and sporty. On that end of the spectrum, we’re talking about vehicles like the Aston Martin DBX, the Lamborghini Urus, and the Alfa Romeo Stelvio.

Nevertheless, we’re hoping that we can find just a couple that all of you can agree on as the best looking of the bunch. Tell us below what makes an SUV good-looking and which are your favorites!
