Another monthly update is about to drop on the Playstation racing game Gran Turismo 7. Dubbed 1.25, it’ll bring with it four new cars including two Nissans, a Mazda Roadster, and a Maserati Merak along with two new photo scapes locations. Here’s a quick look at what’s coming at 11 p.m. PDT on October 19th.
Included in this new version are the Nissan GT-R NISMO GT3, the Nissan Skyline 2000GT-R, the Mazda Roadster NR-A, and the Maserati Merak SS. While three of these cars have graced previous Gran Turismo titles, it’s a first for the classic mid-engine Maserati.
The quartet was teased last week by none other than Polyphony Digital’s CEO Kazunori Yamauchi. He posted a heavily silhouetted image of the four cars on his Twitter account which led to mostly right guesses about which cars were coming.

The Maserati Merak debuted in 1972 as another Giugiaro-penned sports car closely related to the Maserati Bora. While the Bora housed a V8 under the rear decklid, the Merak had a V6. The car that GT7 players will have access to, the Merak SS is a performance variant that developed 218 hp (162 kW).
The Mazda Roadster NR-A isn’t just a normal fourth-gen MX-5 with some fancy graphics. It’s a track-focused version of the sports car with modifications intent on making it perform even better than stock. That includes bigger brakes, a larger radiator, height-adjustable Bilstein dampers, and beefier drivetrain components.
The Nissan GT-R NISMO GT3 from 2018 is closely related to the car GR used for GT Academy back in 2013. This newer version sports a dry sump allowing for the engine to be approximately 150mm lower and 150mm further back in the vehicle. On top of that Nissan improved body rigidity, and repositioned radiators and intercoolers for better performance.
Finally, the 1973 Nissan Skyline 2000GT-R returns to the franchise. Equipped with an S20 inline-six race engine and four-wheel disc brakes, this GT-R was ahead of its time. It was the last Nissan to carry the GT-R badge for some 16 years. While only 197 examples of this trim were ever created now millions will have the chance to pilot it virtually.
Players also have two new Scapes photo locations to take their cars to. Those include Autumn Leaves which features a picturesque road with amber-colored foliage surrounding it, and Whitby, the seaside town in England where cars can be photographed with rugged cliffside as their backdrop.
