The Volkswagen ID. Buzz was always meant to be an electric homage to the iconic Type 2 Microbus. Now, seven months after its unveiling, the ID. Buzz has received its first camping box accessory from Ququq, which only helps solidify its ties to the original and its roots as a practical people-mover you could live in.

Called the BusBox-4, Ququq’s camping box features just about everything one would conceivably need to live out of the back of their ID. Buzz. This includes a table, a sink, a two-burner gas cooker, and a fresh water supply complete with two 10-liter tanks.

The camping box also includes additional storage space, room for a cool box, and a fold-out bed with a 125 x 195 cm (49 x 77 in) mattress. Quite possibly the best part of it, though, is that it requires no modification to the existing vehicle. All one theoretically has to to do install it is fold down the rear seats. And regarding those rear seats, while we’re not certain, it also looks as though you can actually keep them in place with the bed folded up, which would certainly be an added benefit as well.

As far as pricing for the BusBox-4 goes, it will cost €2,790 ($2,708) and it will be available for purchase beginning in November. We hope that this is just the first of many camping accessories for the ID. Buzz and that hopefully we’ll eventually see one with a pop-up roof option (as unlikely as it may be).
