Finale Speed made news recently when it partnered with Dodge to create custom carbon-fiber-bodied 1970 Chargers. Now, it’s making news again but this time with a bowtie on the front. It just debuted a carbon-bodied 1969 Chevrolet Camaro with modern components and a 650 hp (484 kW) crate engine.
Located in Yukon, Oklahoma, Finale Speed made a name restoring and building classic cars over the last few years. Unlike some other custom car builders, it hasn’t modified the shape or dimensions of the Camaro you see here. The big change is that the entire body is made up of prepreg autoclave-cured carbon fiber.
That benefits the car by reducing weight but Finale Speed doesn’t stop there. It also leverages a modern drivetrain including a LT4 crate engine and a Tremec T-56 Super Magnum six-speed manual transmission along with a modern chassis and suspension to produce a Camaro that’s old-school in looks alone.

It features LED lighting, flush-mounted glass, billet hinges, and a BASF Glasurit clear coat. Forgeline three-piece wheels sit at each corner and conceal Wilwood brake components including 14-inch slotted, cross-drilled rotors. Toyo Proxes R888R tires do all they can to provide adequate grip.
Inside the cabin, you’ll find VXR seats, an Alcantara headliner, Alcantara-covered door panels, Old Air Products climate control, and Classic Instruments gauges. A bespoke four-point roll bar and a deleted rear seat only add to the car’s capabilities.
Keep in mind that these are just the specs for the base vehicle. Buyers can pick and choose all sorts of options. That includes swapping out the engine for a Wegner LS3 with 1,000 hp (745 kW), swapping the Tremec out for an automatic transmission, adding carbon fiber wheels, or paint and striping.
Buyers can even order a roller body instead of a turnkey Camaro should they want to do some of the building themselves. Named Viral by Finale Speed, this Camaro will make its public debut at the 2023 Barrett-Jackson Scottsdale Auction beginning on January 21st.
