Apex Motors introduced the AP-0 concept nearly three years ago and promised it would spawn a ground-breaking production model. However, it remains vaporware despite plans to originally begin production in the fourth quarter of 2022.

While the brand has largely been radio silent, they’ve awaken from their slumber and will reportedly show the concept in the United States on March 5th.

Fox News reports the would-be automaker has also teamed up with musician Wyclef Jean.  Details remain fuzzy, but the publication cited a press release saying Jean worked to ensure the car has an “enhanced music and sound experience.”  The car also promises to analyze the driver and play songs that “best fit the mood for [an] optimal driving experience.”

While production was originally slated to occur in the United Kingdom last year, Apex told the publication the AP-0 will now be built in the Little Haiti neighborhood of Miami, in partnership with the owner of Supercar Rooms Miami.  Production is slated to begin in late 2024 and pricing is said to start at $350,000 (£290,805).

If everything pans out, the AP-0 will arrive nearly two years behind schedule and cost $169,475 (£140,812) more than it’s originally quoted price of £150,000 ($180,525).  That’s a heck of a price increase and it remains to be seen if the car will actually go into production this time around.

Regardless, the AP-0 was originally slated to have a 90 kWh battery pack as well as a rear-mounted motor producing 650 hp (484 kW / 649 PS) and 427 lb-ft (580 Nm) of torque.  Apex claimed this would enable the car to accelerate from 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) in 2.3 seconds, hit a top speed of 190 mph (306 km/h), and have a WLTP range of up to 320 miles (515 km).
