We recently posed a question of the day to you surrounding the most underrated cars on the market right now. Never before in history has the globe been so full of sincerely decent cars.

In fact, we think that there are so many good ones that a number are flying under the radar. We asked you which were the most underrated and you responded with almost 100 comments. Here are the five most underrated cars available right now according to you.

#5 Chevrolet Camaro LT1

Submitted by JeanBaptistie, the Camaro LT1 trim specifically got five upvotes and not a single downvote. Their reasoning is pretty sound too:  “You can get it for less than MSRP so you can get a V8 manual for 37,500.”

In a world full of wild markups, that’s quite refreshing and says a lot about demand. BeerThirty247 complimented the choice and pointed out its “essentially packing Corvette power”. We’d say that’s a very worthy choice.

#4 Mazda 6

Also with five upvotes and no downvotes is the Mazda6. Before you complain that it’s not available anymore keep in mind that it’s just not available in the U.S. or UK. It’s still up for grabs in Australia and Japan. In fact, it could even end up getting an update in the near future there. Why is it fourth and not tied with the Camaro? Multiple commenters mentioned it and when combined, it scored 11 upvotes and only a single downvote.

#3 Cupra Formentor VZ5

Another vehicle high on your list and not available in America is the Cupra Formentor VZ5. For the unaware, the person who submitted it, XtremWize, pointed to its “400 hp five-cylinder engine from the Audi RS3” as the reason for its inclusion. That’s a motor that we’ve tested and absolutely love.

PhilMcGraw said something that I’m surprised more people don’t say more often: “I sometimes wish VW would just give us vehicles like this in the states instead of the boring Tiguan.”

#2 Mazda3 Turbo

Taking the silver medal, Mmmoose says that it’s the Mazda3 Turbo specifically. It’s not just the turbocharged four-cylinder engine or the standard AWD that gets you guys though. It’s the whole experience according to Atomicbri: “It is a wonderful experience inside. The feel of the interior, working of the switchgear, it feels in a class above.” This little hatch scored 13 upvotes and only two downvotes. It missed out on the top spot by just a single point.

#1 Alfa Romeo Giulia

Taking the gold with 14 upvotes and two downvotes is the Italian sedan that so many of us, me included, wish we had sitting in the garage. The Alfa Romeo Giulia, which has received a facelift in Europe but has not yet been launched in North America, is a sincerely excellent driver’s car. Ben and DB both agreed about its place on the top of the podium but Trackhacker likely put the nail on the head as to why it’s not more popular.

“Most can’t get past the reliability REPUTATION,” they say, adding that they had one and it was “practically flawless.” It’s certainly a stunning looker and a spectacular driver.

So those are your top five choices for the most underrated cars on sale today. If we learned anything it’s probably that Americans don’t appreciate some great cars enough. In other news, water is still wet.
