The McLaren Artura has been hit by delay after delay since its unveiling and while many customers around the world are still eagerly awaiting delivery, the British company has found the time to collaborate with a German artist to create a special one-off supercar.

The artist, self-taught Cevin Parker, set out to make this Artura look unlike any other and he has certainly achieved that goal by creating a wrap for the hybrid supercar that combines elements of purple, orange, red, pink, and yellow. McLaren and Parker will display the car at the Nit D’Arte event in Palma des Mallorca as well as the famed ART Basel Miami event in December.

Almost the entire front fascia of the Artura is now finished in a light shade of purple that helps to accentuate the design of the eye-socket headlights and the large air intakes. The color then slowly transitions to a light shade of yellow at the rear. Parker has also created color elements that look as though they have been splashed along the sides of the car. A set of red brake calipers complete the look.

Unique McLaren Artura Heading To Art Shows Around The World

“We are delighted to reveal this exclusive collaboration with Cevin Parker,” McLaren Automotive’s market director for Central Europe, Bastian Luehmann, said. “Parker’s extraordinary talent and deep understanding of art have allowed him to create a truly remarkable design that perfectly captures the spirit of the Artura. His use of color – particularly the vibrant combination of purple and yellow – symbolizes creativity, individuality, energy and optimism, all of which resonate with the Artura’s dynamic personality.”

Earlier this month it was revealed that McLaren has delayed the deliveries of some Artura models in the United States because the brand has implemented new testing procedures that it says will help to improve its quality control. The delay means that owners who had been expecting to take delivery in May will now have to wait until September.
