Bentley recently introduced the limited edition Supersports and now they’re bringing some of its bravado to the rest of the lineup. In this case, the boys in Crewe have introduced the new Continental GT S and GTC S.
Designed to appeal to enthusiasts, the coupe and convertible have a High Performance Hybrid powertrain with a 4.0-liter V8 engine. It produces a combined output of 671 hp (500 kW / 680 PS) and 686 lb-ft (930 Nm) of torque.

The plug-in hybrid system enables the model to rocket from 0-60 mph (0-96 km/h) in 3.3 seconds, before hitting a top speed of 190 mph (306 km/h). Those are great numbers and they’re even more surprising when you consider the car can also travel up to 50 miles (80 km) on electricity alone.
Besides being fast, the new S lineup features the Bentley Performance Active Chassis setup from the GT Speed and GT Mulliner. It combines active all-wheel drive with torque vectoring technology as well as a high-tech suspension with twin valve dampers and an active anti-roll system.
On top of that, the models have a new generation of electronic stability control as well as a handful of firsts for the Continental GT S. Among the new additions is an electronic limited slip differential and all-wheel steering.
These features promise to make the Continental GT S a far better driver’s car. Speaking of which, Dynamic Mode allows drivers to kick the rear end out while still “maintaining confidence to bring the car back in-line if required.” Customers can also turn off the electronic stability control system completely if they want to push things to the limit.
Sporty, But Distinguished
To help set the S apart, it has been equipped with the Blackline Specification which adds gloss black matrix grille inserts, black badging, and a subtle front spoiler. They’re joined by sporty side skirts, a restrained diffuser, and Beluga black mirror caps.
Rounding out the highlights are tinted lighting units, a sports exhaust system, and 22-inch wheels with a silver finish. That being said, customers can choose from an assortment of different wheels including those with two-tone and gloss black finishes.
Bentley didn’t release interior pictures, but the S has a unique two-tone upholstery split as well as a “fluted seat design.” Elsewhere, Dinamica upholstery can be found on the steering wheel, shifter, and door panels.
Piano black trim comes standard, but carbon fiber is optional. Customers can also get other finishes as well as dark chrome accents as well as a full leather interior.
Bentley didn’t mention pricing, but it appears the S will slot in between the Azure and Speed. The latter model still has the performance advantage as it packs a 771 hp (575 kW / 782 PS) punch.
