• Deep Ocean Package adds $27K to the CT5-V Blackwing price.
  • Supercharged V8 with 668 hp remains completely unchanged.
  • Production run is capped at just 200 units worldwide.

The Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing is an incredibly special car. Now, it’s about to get a special edition that takes things to another level. Dubbed the Deep Ocean Package, it’s limited to just 200 examples.

Each one will get a special blue paint color, some fancy blue interior bits, a whole mess of additional carbon fiber, and exactly zero extra performance on tap. Oh, and it’ll set buyers back an extra $27,000 in the process.

Don’t get us wrong. If there’s an American sedan that doesn’t really need extra performance, it’s this one. Its glorious 6.2-liter supercharged LT4 V8, producing 668 hp and 659 lb-ft of torque, paired with either a six-speed manual or a 10-speed automatic, is enough to make it stand out in any crowd.

This new Deep Ocean Package will just stand out a little more even on a lot full of CT5-Vs.

What Does $27,000 Buy You?

First spotted by the folks at CadillacVNet, it’ll come with what GM calls Deep Ocean Tintcoat (G3Y) paint. That shouldn’t be all that surprising, given the package name, but what makes it special is that until now, it was only available on the Optiq-V. The cabin gets a distinct treatment too, as shown in one of the forum user’s photos.

Buyers get high-performance front bucket seats upholstered in full semi-aniline leather, complete with mini-perforated inserts, custom quilting, and exposed carbon-fiber seatbacks. Those seats alone normally cost $8,090. Santorini Blue seat belts and blue-painted brake calipers add contrast, while multiple carbon fiber packages dress up the dash and trim.

Outside, the upgrades continue with Satin Graphite 19-inch forged wheels, black mirror caps, black lug nuts, and gloss black Cadillac and model badging. Both Carbon Fiber Packages 1 and 2 are included as well, accounting for a large chunk of the added cost.

Interestingly, Cadillac’s own pricing suggests some of this is bundled convenience rather than pure value. As pointed out by one of the commentators, when optioned individually, the included parts total roughly $24,960, meaning the color alone is worth $2,035.

Whether the exclusivity is worth nearly $27,000 is a question potential buyers will have to wrangle with. Clearly, Cadillac thinks the answer is yes.
