• Alfa Romeo will restart Quadrifoglio production in March 2026.
  • The V6 variants stay on sale with gas and diesel through 2027.
  • Next-generation electrified models are delayed until 2028.

Stellantis is not only reviving V8-powered Rams and other specials in the US. It is also revisiting recent decisions in Europe, though for different reasons. After reintroducing diesel engines to more models, the transatlantic conglomerate has confirmed the return of the Giulia and Stelvio Quadrifoglio in Europe from early March 2026, with availability set to continue through 2027

The decade-old Alfa Romeo sedan and SUV siblings arrive unchanged, with no styling or mechanical updates. Production has resumed to cover the gap created by delays to their electrified successors.

The Giulia debuted in June 2015, followed by the Stelvio in November 2016. Both received a facelift in 2023, bringing mild visual and interior updates. The high-strung Quadrifoglio variants were withdrawn from the US in mid-2024 and from Europe in mid-2025, yet a revised product plan has cleared the way for their return.

Stellantis has now extended production of the current Giulia and Stelvio through 2027. That includes the standard versions with the 2.0-liter gasoline and 2.2-liter turbodiesel engines, along with the previously discontinued V6-powered Quadrifoglio models. European order books for the performance variants reopen in early March, while plans for North America have not been confirmed.

The announcement is accompanied by images of the Giulia and Stelvio Quadrifoglio Collezione special editions, unveiled in December 2025. Finished in Rosso Etna with exposed carbon fiber accents and dark alloy wheels, they also feature Sparco seats with carbon shells, plus leather and Alcantara upholstery. Production is limited to 63 units for China, Japan, Europe, and the Middle East.

Review: Alfa Romeo Stelvio Quadrifoglio Feels More Sports Car Than SUV

It remains unclear how Stellantis has ensured the twin-turbo 2.9-liter V6 complies with Euro 7 regulations, but output is unchanged at 513 hp (383 kW / 520 PS) and 442 lb-ft (600 Nm) of torque. Power goes to the rear wheels in the sedan and to all four wheels in the SUV.

In a statement marking the Quadrifoglio’s return to European catalogues, Alfa Romeo CEO Santo Ficili said: “The Quadrifoglio is the most authentic expression of Alfa Romeo sportiness and of our cars, designed for real fans of driving, with the focus always on the driver. We’re sure it will continue to inspire our future.”

Next Generation Delayed

The next-generation Stelvio was initially due to make its world premiere in late 2025 as a fully electric SUV, followed by a Giulia fastback crossover, both based on the STLA Large platform. However, Alfa Romeo engineers were forced into a late rethink to accommodate combustion engines, pushing the launch of the redesigned models to 2028.

Ficili has acknowledged the company must “change everything” to pivot back to a multi-powertrain strategy shaped by market demand and evolving regulations. As a result, Alfa Romeo will keep the aging Giorgio-based models in production longer, extending the life of its non-electrified gasoline and diesel offerings.
