Americans will probably never get to experience the BYD Shark 6 plug-in hybrid, but in several markets around the world, it’s proving to be extremely popular. With this in mind, aftermarket support for it has surged, and whereas a base Shark 6 looks a little uninspired, it can quickly and easily be transformed into something that’s much more dramatic.

Review: BYD Shark 6 Is Faster Than A Ranger Raptor But That Is Only Half The Surprise

As it happens, one of the main players cashing in on Shark fever is Australia’s Hamer 4×4, which ships its parts globally. It has developed a full catalogue of upgrades for the Chinese pickup, handing the BYD the visual attitude it needs to square up to staples like the Toyota Hilux, Ford Ranger, and Isuzu D-Max.

Many of Hamer 4×4’s accessories are previewed on the King Series model. It includes a redesigned steel front bumper that improves the truck’s approach angle for off-roading and integrates new lighting. Hamer 4×4 has also added bright red tow hooks, a red skid plate, and Stedi LED spotlights.

The Aussie firm also offers several wheel options for the Shark 6 that give it a more rugged look, especially when paired with all-terrain or mud-terrain tires. New steel side steps can be added, along with various rear accessories, including sports bars that can be configured to hold LED lights shining into the bed.

Hamer 4×4 also offers a distinctive steel rear bumper for the Shark 6, along with its own towing kit. Owners can also order retractable bed covers, additional underbody plates, and a powerful winch designed to mount to the upgraded front bumper.
