The Lotus Emira has gained a new special edition, and this one does not hail from Hethel. Instead, it comes courtesy of official Australian distributor Simply Sports Cars, which decided the standard car needed a bit more Bathurst in its life.
Meet the Emira Turbo Bathurst Edition, a track-focused take with extra power, sharper suspension, and added aero. Only 15 will be built.

Named after Australia’s most famous circuit, the Bathurst Edition packs an upgraded version of the AMG-sourced turbo 2.0-liter M139 engine. Output climbs to 503 hp (375 kW / 510 PS) and 600 Nm (443 lb-ft) of torque. That is a healthy bump of 103 hp (77 kW) and 120 Nm (89 lb-ft) over the Emira SE.
Those figures make this the most powerful Emira yet. It eclipses the V6-powered road car and even the GT4 racecar, which is either impressive or mildly awkward depending on your perspective. It is also the most powerful production Lotus with a combustion engine, comfortably outgunning every Elise, Exige, and Evora that came before it.
Drive goes to the rear wheels via an eight-speed dual-clutch automatic that has been “enhanced,” along with revised ESP settings. Lotus has not gone into detail, but we can assume it is meant to feel keener when things get lively.
Aero Upgrades And Chassis Tweaks
Visually, the Bathurst Edition is set apart by a fixed rear wing with a swan-neck design and a new carbon-fiber front splitter. It also wears a racing livery with Bathurst graphics along the sides and rear. There are no interior photos yet, though it does get a numbered plaque to mark it out as one of the 15 cars.

The chassis has been upgraded to cope with the extra muscle. It runs three-way adjustable dampers from Australian firm Modal Suspension, paired with a lower ride height and revised wheel alignment.
It also rides on 20-inch alloy wheels wrapped in Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires, the sort of rubber that prefers racetracks to supermarket car parks. Braking is handled by four-piston AP Racing calipers clamping two-piece ventilated discs.
Premium Pricing, Limited Availability
The 2026 Emira Bathurst Edition is limited to 15 units for Australia, and the first car has already found a home. Pricing starts at AU$249,990 (US$176,600) before on-road costs. That is AU$50,000 (US$35,300) premium over the factory Emira Turbo it is based on.

To sweeten the deal, buyers will also receive a complimentary entry to the next Lotus track day at Bathurst, which is scheduled for 2027.
