- The aging Jeep Renegade receives a second facelift in South America.
- It brings exterior tweaks, a new dashboard, and a mild-hybrid option.
- A new generation of the small SUV is reportedly under development.
The Renegade has been around since 2014, and while it was retired from the U.S. in 2023, Jeep isn’t quite ready to pull the plug in other markets. The small SUV is getting yet another refresh in Brazil for the 2027 model year, including a few subtle exterior tweaks, a reworked interior, and the addition of an electrified powertrain option.
On the outside, the Renegade gains revised front and rear bumpers along with new plastic cladding. These changes aren’t purely cosmetic, as Jeep says they also improve approach and departure angles while also stretching the SUV’s length to 4,270 mm (168.1 inches). Up front, the familiar seven-slot grille gets a mild rethink, now featuring aerodynamic inserts in the center.

Beyond that, the rest of the body is largely untouched, and the lighting units carry over from the previous 2022 facelift. As before, buyers can still dip into the Mopar catalog for extras like roof bars and side steps, if the standard look feels a bit too restrained.
2027 Jeep Renegade Willys
The Willys trim, previously a limited edition, now replaces the Trailhawk as the range-topping variant. It comes exclusively with four-wheel drive and stands out with red bumper accents, distinctive decals, and new 17-inch alloy wheels wrapped in mixed all-terrain tires.
What Changed Inside?
While the exterior feels familiar, the real transformation takes place inside. Drawing inspiration from the larger Compass, the dashboard has been completely redesigned with new trim inserts and a 10.1-inch touchscreen mounted higher for better visibility. Wireless smartphone connectivity comes standard, while select trims gain an updated infotainment system with connected services and integrated Alexa.
Other upgrades include rear air vents and a cooled wireless charging pad. Equipment levels have also been enhanced across the lineup, with features such as dual-zone A/C, a 7-inch digital instrument cluster, and a rearview camera now standard from the entry-level Altitude trim.
Electrified Powertrain Option
While the European-spec Renegade added a plug-in hybrid (4xe) in 2020 and a mild-hybrid 1.5-liter engine (e-Hybrid) in 2022, the South American version has until now stuck with pure combustion engines. That changes with the 2027 update, which introduces electrification to the lineup.

The Longitude and Sahara trims receive an enhanced version of the turbo flex-fuel 1.3-liter engine, now paired with a 48V mild-hybrid system. Output remains at 176 hp, with power sent to the front wheels through a six-speed automatic transmission. Jeep says the mild-hybrid setup improves city fuel efficiency by 7% and reduces CO2 emissions by 8%.
2027 Jeep Renegade Sahara
The entry-level Altitude and range-topping Willys retain the non-electrified turbo flex 1.3-liter engine, capable of running on both gasoline and ethanol. In the Willys, this engine is paired with a nine-speed automatic transmission and a full-time 4WD system that includes low-range gearing, a locking rear differential, and five drive modes: Auto, Snow, Sand, Mud, and Rock.
Cheaper Than Before
The 2027 Jeep Renegade is now available to order in Brazil, starting at a reduced R$ 129,990 ($24,800) for the entry-level Altitude. The mid-spec Longitude is priced at R$ 158,690 ($30,300), which is R$ 7,000 ($1,300) less than the outgoing model, while the Sahara holds steady at R$ 175,990 ($33,600). At the top of the range, the Willys comes in at R$ 189,490 ($36,200), matching the price of the discontinued Trailhawk.

This refresh is intended to keep the Renegade competitive as Jeep prepares to introduce the even smaller Avenger Avenger in South America, with local production planned in Brazil.
A new generation of the Renegade is expected to debut in Europe by 2027, though it may arrive in South America closer to the end of the decade. The SUV will transition to a new Stellantis platform and is set to offer multiple powertrain options, following the company’s decision to abandon its earlier EV-only strategy.
