- Subaru marks 60,000 WRX sales in Australia with a 75-unit run.
- Club Spec Evo comes manual only with bright Sunrise Yellow.
- STI dampers and Brembo brakes carry over largely unchanged.
Subaru is marking a milestone in Australia, and it is doing so with a splash of bright yellow. After delivering its 60,000th WRX in the country, the company is celebrating with a limited-run special edition called the AWD Club Spec Evo. Just 75 examples will be built, pairing a six-speed manual with a vivid yellow finish that nods to the rally-bred heroes of Subaru’s past.
The new variant starts life as a WRX AWD tS Spec B, the range-topping trim introduced last year. It also follows the Australian-only Club Spec released in 2024, continuing the idea of locally focused WRX specials. Visually, the biggest cue is the tall rear wing, a familiar throwback to the STI era, though the overall specification is unique to this edition.

The standout detail is the Sunrise Yellow paint, a shade previously seen on the Australian-market BRZ tS Kiiro and the North American Series.Yellow editions. On the WRX, it is paired with black and white decals across the rear doors, gold brake calipers peeking through the spokes, and 19-inch alloy wheels finished in matte black.
Inside the special WRX we find a pair of Recaro sport bucket seats with Ultrasuede and leather-style upholstery. The black-themed cabin has yellow perforations and stitching, along with a Club Spec Evo badge and a numbered plaque.

The performance sedan inherits the electronically controlled STI-tuned dampers, Brembo brakes, and quad tailpipes from the WRX AWD tS Spec B. The same applies to the six-speed manual gearbox, which is the only available transmission and works with Subaru’s Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive system.
The turbocharged 2.4-liter boxer engine remains unchanged, producing 271 hp (202 kW / 275 PS) and 258 lb-ft (350 Nm) of torque, the same output found across the rest of the WRX lineup.
How Much Does It Cost?
The 2026 Subaru WRX AWD Club Spec Evo is now available to order in Australia, priced at AU$ 63,190 (US$ 45,100). That represents a AU$ 1,000 (US$ 715) premium over the flagship tS Spec B trim it is based on, making it the most expensive WRX sedan currently on sale in the country.

While Australia gets the visual punch of Sunrise Yellow and the rear wing that Subaru fans appreciate, Japan has seen more hardcore versions of the VB-generation sedan. These include the limited-production WRX STI S210 from 2025 with a more powerful engine, as well as the WRX STI Sport# from 2026 that adds STI Performance parts for the chassis.
