• MINI and Vagabund reimagined the Countryman as music-focused rigs.
  • Show cars feature widebody flares, a suspension lift, and 20-inch wheels.
  • Rear side windows are replaced by outdoor speakers in bespoke housings.

While MINI continues to tease an off-road-leaning Countryman, it has taken a quick detour into something arguably more on-brand for festival season. Born from a collaboration with Austrian design studio Vagabund, this duo transforms the compact SUV into a pair of nomadic, music-focused rigs.

The one-offs are based on the Countryman S ALL4, reworked to function as mobile sound stages for festivals and outdoor community events. Both get wide fender extensions, bespoke bumpers, and 3D-printed covers for the 20-inch wheels, styled to echo speaker hardware rather than anything remotely off-road.

The bespoke roof racks pair laser-cut aluminum plates with stainless steel mesh, again borrowing cues from speaker grilles. The key distinction between the two builds comes down to finish, with one wearing Melting Silver with beige and white accents, while the other leans into a darker Midnight Black theme.

Outdoor Speakers

The most dramatic departure from the standard Countryman comes at the rear, where the side windows have been replaced entirely by custom outdoor loudspeaker housings. Developed specifically for this project, the enclosures are made from cast polymer granite, a dense material selected for its acoustic neutrality and precision. They hinge upward as well, giving this MINI an unexpected set of gullwing-style openings.

Audio hardware is baked directly into the bodywork, with tweeters and mid-range speakers integrated into the structure itself, supported by additional subwoofers in the rear cargo area. On the silver car, the passenger side adds a playful touch, featuring a vintage Walkman cassette player with headphones, a wink to analog nostalgia in an otherwise very modern, very loud concept.

Stock Power, Lift Kit

Under the hood, the models retain the stock turbo 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine from the Countryman S, producing 215 hp (160 kW / 218 PS) and 360 Nm (266 lb-ft) of torque. Power is transmitted to all four wheels via a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic and the ALL4 system. Another highlight is the raised ground clearance, courtesy of a suspension lift kit.
