• The exterior pairs Midnight Black with a custom Metallic Green finish.
  • More than 50 interior areas carry the same bespoke green as the body.
  • The owner worked directly with Mini’s design and production teams.

Mini has shown the world that you don’t need to spend hundreds of thousands of dollars on a limited-run sports car or millions on a hypercar to have a vehicle with a one-off configuration. This John Cooper Works Convertible isn’t an aftermarket special and was built by Mini for one of its biggest US enthusiasts, and there’s no other in existence.

Eager to have a car unlike any other, the owner worked closely with Mini’s design and production teams to create something special. Immediately making the convertible model stand out is the striking exterior finish, which is no ordinary, off-the-shelf paint color.

Instead, this Mini has a bespoke finish combining Midnight Black with a custom-tinted Metallic Green, complete with a diagonal split across the bodywork. The subcompact also sits on a special set of wheels and has subtle aero fins in front of the wheels at both axles. Other custom touches made include the two-tone white and black wing mirrors, distinctive badges, and a black soft top with a Union Jack graphic.

A Cabin To Match

You also won’t find another Mini with a cabin quite like this one. More than 50 areas throughout the interior have the same Metallic Green finish as the exterior, including on the dashboard, the center console, the side sills, door panels, and the Harmon Kardon speaker grilles. It also has several ‘MINI.01’ badges throughout, including on the steering wheel, the floor mats, and the instrument cluster.

“Our owners see their MINI as more than just a car, and for many, it becomes a canvas for self-expression shaped into a true reflection of their personality,” head of marketing, product, and strategy at Mini USA, Kate Alini said. “This project gave us the opportunity to explore creating a unique custom-crafted MINI specific to customer preferences. With a vision this distinctive for a one-off car, it was exciting to see our customer’s vision come to life.”

There’s no word on how much the owner had to pay beyond a standard John Cooper Works Convertible to get this one-off, but we’re sure it would have been enough to drain the bank accounts of many Americans. Now that the build process is complete, the convertible is on its way to the US, where, hopefully, the owner will bring this special Mini onto the roads rather than lock it away in a garage.
