• Dodge is returning to performance and the brotherhood of muscle.
  • All current and future models are getting a high-performance SRT variant.
  • Company will offer new GLH crossover and a mysterious muscle car.

Stellantis’ Investor Day continues and Dodge is returning to the formula that made them “America’s performance brand.” The move will see them introduce new models, expand their ICE-powered lineup, and SRT everything.

The big news is a “true, entry-level performance vehicle.” Tim Kuniskis described it as a “gateway into the brotherhood of muscle.”

Before you get your hopes up, he described it as the “next-generation of Hornet, but the way we should have done it the first time.” The company was coy on details, but revealed the crossover will be called the GLH.

Stellantis seemed to imply it will be a mid-sized crossover, which suggests it could be related to the upcoming Chrysler Airflow. If that’s the case, it would likely ride on the STLA One platform. Additional information is limited, but Dodge confirmed plans for an SRT variant.

While the brand needs another crossover, it doesn’t get the heart racing. To address that, Dodge appears to be working on an extreme muscle car.

The mystery model is apparently separate from the Charger lineup and the teaser shows a huge wing, which gives classic Charger Daytona and Plymouth Superbird vibes. According to the slide, we can expect an SRT variant.

That’s not much to go on, but the car is reportedly called the Copperhead SRT. The snake moniker was last seen on a 1997 concept and Car & Driver suggests the model could be based on the Charger, and have V8 power.

The Charger lineup has expanded to include two- and four-door models with electric and twin-turbo powertrains. More versions are on the horizon including at least one SRT variant. Judging by the Ram 1500 TRX SRT and Rumble Bee SRT, we can expect the model to have a supercharged 6.2-liter V8 developing around 777 hp (579 kW / 788 PS) and 680 lb-ft (921 Nm) of torque.

Last but not least, Kuniskis confirmed plans for a “refreshed” Durango. That seems to imply the ancient three-row crossover is getting another facelift.

This is kind of surprising as the current model has been in production for 16 years. However, as the previous Challenger and Charger proved, age is just a number and you can still generate serious volume out of an old vehicle.

Despite new and updated models, Dodge only expects to increase sales to around 135,000 units annually by 2030. That sounds overly conservative, but it’s better to under promise and over deliver.
