Following hot on the heels of the 2027 Grand Cherokee Trailhawk, Jeep has released the first teaser image of the upcoming Cherokee Trailhawk. It’s a rugged variant that promises to have real off-road capability.

Jeep is keeping the details thin for now, but the teaser image suggests the model will be distinguished by a grey front fascia as well as a unique front bumper. The latter incorporates red tow hooks, body color accents, and a more macho design. We can also expect it to provide a better approach angle.

The Grand Cherokee Trailhawk hands over a number of clues about where this is headed. It features a matte black hood decal, steel skid plates, and 18-inch wheels wrapped in all-terrain tires. The model also has a TrailCam system, which acts as a virtual spotter.

The upgrades extend to the cabin as the Grand Cherokee Trailhawk has Global Black Nappa leather seats with red contrast stitching. However, the Cherokee will likely stick to Capri leatherette upholstery.

Under the hood, we can expect a familiar hybrid powertrain that consist of a turbocharged 1.6-liter four-cylinder engine, two electric motors, a continuously variable transmission, and a 1.08 kWh lithium-ion battery pack. This setup gives the crossover a combined output of 210 hp (157 kW / 213 PS) and 230 lb-ft (312 Nm) of torque as well as a fuel economy rating of 39 mpg city, 35 mpg highway, and 37 mpg combined.

Four-wheel drive comes standard on the regular Cherokee, but the Trailhawk will likely have an upgraded system that’s Trail Rated. It should also add a Low range into the mix.
