The Suzuki stand at the Paris Salon showcased a new concept vehicle named the S-Cross, and mind you, this isn’t just another one of those show-grabbers as it hints at a production model that will go on sale sooner than you think.
“The new crossover will be the first in an ambitious programme of annual European model launches, which Suzuki will be starting in 2013,” the Japanese carmaker said in a statement.
The S-Cross is a C-segment crossover and it measures 4,310mm long, 1,840mm wide, and 1,600mm tall, which makes it 160mm longer, 85mm wider but also 20mm lower than the AWD version of the Suzuki SX4 (though the concept does not feature roof rails like the SX4).
Suzuki hasn’t exactly been clear on whether the production version of the S-Cross will replace the smaller SX4.
Needless to say, the exterior styling of the production S-Cross will be toned down several notches.
No information has been released about the mechanical hardware, but the Japanese carmaker stated that the production model of the S-Cross concept will be “among those with the lowest CO2 emissions in the C-segment of crossover cars”.
