Dramatic footage from an incident that took place on December 28 at the Forth Road Bridge in Edinburgh, Scotland, and which was released today by the bridge’s operators, shows what kind of dangers some foolish drivers put themselves in as well as other vehicles when they ignore the road signs.

Even though the bridge operators had posted restriction signs for trucks due to the high winds and storms battering the area at the time, a lorry driver entered the bridge only to have his or her large trailer swept into the air by the strong winds.

The truck’s trailer overturned and stayed that way for about a minute or so blocking the way to all cars, but surprisingly it righted itself up again. The lorry continued its way but was soon stopped by police after exiting the bridge.

The entire incident was recorded by the bridge’s close circuit cameras as well as by a the driver of a vehicle following from behind.
