Golden State Warriors guard and NBA mega-star Stephen Curry was lucky to walk away uninjured from a car accident late last week, when a silver Lexus lost control, skidded and impacted his black Porsche Panamera at highway speed.

Footage of the crash was recently obtained by TMZ Sports and as you can see, the NBA star had no fault in what happened, as he became a simple passenger due to the nature of the collision and his car was forced towards the concrete barrier.

The incident took place on Highway 24 in Oakland, and according to reports, all drivers involved, as well as their passengers, were left without any injuries. After the crash, Curry posted the following message on his Twitter profile:

As for why that Lexus lost control and crashed into Curry’s Porsche in the first place, authorities think it’s because of poor weather – which is a logical explanation given the rainy conditions.

What’s interesting is that since the accident took place, Porsche Panamera owners have stepped up to praise the four-door model, saying that it helped keep Curry safe in a crash where less stable vehicles would have performed differently, as reported by ABC7 News.

“When the car is hit, it spins, and that spin a German car obviously has a lot more capability to handle that stability, more skid control than your average car,” stated Waid Lababidi, owner of Master Automotive in Santa Clara.

Curry’s second-generation Panamera was initially hit from the front, skidded across the barrier and later on was hit from behind as well.
