The iconic Mercedes-Benz 190E EVO II has received a lot of love in recent years, thanks primarily to HWA’s restomodded version and a separate one from Italian firm Vespera Automobili. Now, one artist has imagined what a Mercedes G-Wagen could look like if it were to receive a body kit inspired by the EVO’s.

The Mercedes G-Class has long been a favorite among high-end aftermarket tuners, no doubt in part because wealthy owners are willing to spend large sums of money to modify them. Usually, upgraded G-Wagens include widebody kits or off-road-focused changes, but we’ve never seen one quite as radical as this.

In combining the G-Wagen with the 190E EVO II, Abimelec Design has dropped the SUV’s ride height, allowing it to sit just a couple of inches above the road. Key components from the EVO II’s kit have then been installed, including the front bumper and splitter, both of which work nicely with the traditional round headlights.

Flared front and rear wheel arches have also been added, as have extended side skirts. There are also six-spoke wheels, just like on an original EVO II, and a large roof-mounted wing at the rear. The modifications include a new tailgate, bumper, and tailpipe finished in chrome.

We’ve seen some pretty wild G-Class projects over the years, although we’ve never seen one quite as radical as this, but that doesn’t mean a vehicle like this will never see the light of day. Admittedly, equipping a G with a custom body kit like this wouldn’t be cheap, but it wouldn’t be impossible. What could prove more challenging is convincing a G-Wagen owner to give up all the vehicle’s off-road capabilities to achieve a lowered stance.
