A touch over a year after Lanzante unveiled its first bespoke supercar, built as a tribute to the iconic McLaren F1, the company has showcased what the car’s optional High Downforce Kit will look like. It looks just about perfect.
Lanzante has spent decades racing and upgrading McLarens, so when it decided to build its 95-59, it’s no surprise it based it on the superb 750S, using the same basic carbon fiber monocoque as that car, but modified to support a three-seat layout. While it shares a lot with several McLaren models, the carbon fiber exterior is all-new, and it looks especially wild in HDK guise.

The British firm says it will offer the High Downforce Kit as an option on the 59 customer cars that it plans to build. To say it transforms the car would be an understatement. It takes what is a sexy and refined supercar and transforms it into something with the presence of a track-only hypercar.
Changes start at the front with a massive carbon fiber splitter, enlarged air intakes, and a reshaped hood. Lanzante has then overhauled the sides with new door skins, carbon fiber skirts, and huge fins rising up to the rear wheels.
As crazy as the front of the car is, it’s perhaps the rear that’s even more dramatic. For starters, there’s a carbon fiber scoop stretching out from the engine bay, feeding cool air directly to the 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8. A wild carbon rear wing has also been created, sporting huge uprights and fins running down the sides of the car. A carbon diffuser has also been added, as has a set of center-lock wheels.
What About Power?
There’s no word on how much the HDK will cost, but Lanzante notes it doesn’t come with any powertrain modifications. That means the 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 still delivers over 850 hp and 650 lb-ft (880 Nm), just like it does in the standard 95-59.
Lanzante recruited former McLaren designer Paul Howse to shape the 95-59, which explains why it looks so much like a McLaren. These include the headlights in the shape of the McLaren logo, LED taillights reminiscent of the P1, and the gorgeous rear quarter panels that have defined most modern McLarens. Prices for the standard 95-59 start at £1,020,000 ($1.34 million) before taxes.
