• Kia has introduced the 2027 K4 Sedan and Hatchback.
  • Both models cost an extra $100 and arrive at dealers shortly.
  • Changes include new wheels and revised color combinations.

The K4 is Kia’s second best-selling vehicle in America as the brand moved 98,554 of them through August. A large part of this success is due to affordable pricing, which takes a hit for 2027.

Thankfully, things aren’t too bad as the 2027 K4 begins at $22,390 before a $1,245 destination fee. That’s a minor increase of $100.

It’s a similar story for the K4 Hatchback, which now starts at $25,090. This is up from $24,990, which is also a $100 increase.

Besides being slightly more expensive, there isn’t much to report. However, the GT-Line Premium Package on both variants now includes 18-inch alloy wheels with a black finish. They replace the regular 18-inch wheels, which have a two-tone design.

Elsewhere in the lineup, Kia has expanded color combinations for the GT-Line and GT-Line Turbo. Both trims now offer a Steel Gray exterior with a Red interior. Before, if you wanted a Steel Gray paint job, you’d have to settle for Black and White SynTex upholstery.

The K4 Sedan is offered in five trims and the entry-level LX is sparsely equipped as it has 16-inch steelies and a rear bench that’s not even split-folding. The model also has a polyurethane steering wheel instead of one wrapped in SynTex upholstery.

While the base model is short on amenities, it does have LED lighting units, air conditioning, and a 12.3-inch infotainment system. Buyers will also find a four-speaker audio system and an assortment of driver assistance systems. The latter include Smart Cruise Control with Stop and Go, Lane Keeping / Lane Following Assist, High Beam Assist, and Forward Collision Avoidance with Car, Pedestrian, Cyclist, and Junction-Turning detection.

Higher-end variants are far more luxurious as they offer an acoustic windshield, a sunroof, and a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster. Other highlights include a 10-way power driver’s seat, heated and ventilated front seats, and an eight-speaker Harman/Kardon premium audio system.

Most trims are equipped with a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine developing 147 hp (110 kW / 149 PS) and 132 lb-ft (179 Nm) of torque. It’s connected to a continuously variable transmission, which enables the sedan to accelerate from 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) in a leisurely 9.7 seconds before hitting a top speed of 124 mph (200 km/h).

Customers can also get a turbocharged 1.6-liter four-cylinder churning out 190 hp (142 kW / 193 PS) and 195 lb-ft (264 Nm) of torque. It’s a worthwhile upgrade as the $28,490 sedan has a proper eight-speed automatic transmission and a 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) time of eight seconds flat.
