Bespoke Red Rolls-Royce Inspired By Inspector Morse

Rolls Royce’s bespoke program is on a roll.

After creating an…“interesting” red Rolls Royce not so long ago, the British car manufacturer’s bespoke service strikes again with a new variant. But besides being a red Rolls Royce, what’s so special about this particular model?

Well, it is honoring Inspector Morse – a cult British detective TV series – and according to Rolls-Royce, the two-tone color scheme exactly matches the Inspector’s car and a complex design process was needed in order to achieve it.

Um, I hate to be the one who bursts the bubble, but the detective was actually rolling in a Jaguar MKII. Furthermore, although the Jag had a similar two-tone paint scheme, the main color was closer to burgundy rather than deep red.

Anyway, Rolls Royce continued saying that the process of applying this color, was equal to that of applying the Surface Finish to 18 more traditionally specified Wraiths. Moreover, 20 layers of paint were applied to the car by the craftspeople in their Surface Finish Centre – yes, apparently Rolls Royce has such a thing.

Even though this bespoke-red Roller is a unique, beautifully crafted automobile, I can’t help thinking it exists just to remind us that the Rolls Royce bespoke program is alive, kicking and still doing…something.
