Using the acceleration lane unwisely can easily give rise to very dangerous situations, much like this one.
This accident took place on Tuesday, August 30th in the Krasnoyarsk region in Russia, where the driver of an old Toyota Chaser sedan decided to use the acceleration lane for overtaking purposes.
What happens next is as straight forward as they get. The driver lost control of the car, skidded into oncoming traffic and got hit by another car – resulting in three people getting seriously injured. Unfortunately that’s all we know from the description of the video, but hopefully none of their injuries are life-threatening.
The reason why the driver lost control is pretty much the same one that led to another similar crash in Australia a couple of months back. The only difference is that during that incident there weren’t any oncoming cars to really put the driver’s life in danger.
In this instance though, it’s even harder to know what the driver of the Toyota was thinking or if he was aware there was a lot of dirt waiting for him after failing to merge in time.
