For our 2012 April Fool’s Day joke, we hacked in a BMW grille and renamed Kia’s new K9 flagship sedan the 9’Series for the North American market. True, our designation cannot be taken seriously, but Kia still needs a model name for the K9 in overseas markets.

The South Korean automaker posted on its Facebook page that it is interested to hear some naming suggestions for the K9 sedan, which was launched in its home market on Wednesday (read more about that here).

Kia has not yet revealed which export markets are destined to get the luxury car, but it’s a no-brainer that a vehicle of the size and price of the K9 will be offered in North America.

The only question is when and under what name will the K9 make it to U.S. showrooms. For the first part of the question, our guess would be next year or perhaps in 2014.

As for the name, after you watch the new video we found from today’s presentation, head over to the comments section to tell us your thoughts.
