Apple co-founder Steve Jobs may have passed away in October of 2011, but he is still very much present through his ideas and dreams.

After learning about the iTV and how he wanted to shake up the television industry, J. Crew CEO and Apple board member Mickey Drexler talked about another product that Jobs had been contemplating, one much less publicized, during a recent interview at Fast Company’s Innovation Uncensored symposium in New York.

“Look at the car industry; it’s a tragedy in America. Who is designing the cars?” said Drexler. “Steve’s dream before he died was to design an iCar.”

The Apple insider noted that “it would’ve been probably 50% of the market” though he pointed out that Jobs “never did design it”.

Regardless of what you think about Jobs and Apple and whether a tech company could venture into a completely different and very complicated industry, you will probably agree that it would have been extremely interesting to see how Job envisioned the automobile in today’s world.
