Obviously, Porsche engineers are trying to make the best of the summer weather in Europe to test as many of their upcoming new models as possible, including the new 911 GT3, spy pictures of which we showed earlier today, and the flagship 918 Spyder.

The hardcore 2013 Porsche 911 GT3 test car was spied on camera in and out of the Nürburgring racetrack.

You can read the specifics in our previous post here, but as a reminder, the lightweight GT3 will use a more powerful version of the latest Carrera S’ naturally aspirated flat-six pushing at least 450 horsepower towards the rear axle.

The 918 Spyder, which was snagged in Spain this time, is a different and far more expensive beast altogether. Among other innovations, it sports a plug-in hybrid powertrain that links a mid-mounted 4.6-liter V8 to an electric motor on each axle for a total system output of more than 760 horses. It will go on sale late next year.
