Headlines all over the world are dedicated these days to the Papal conclave in Rome, where 115 cardinals are trying to elect a new Pope. Millions of Catholics are waiting to see white smoke coming from above the Sistine Chapel, but only black smoke has come out so far. This means the cardinals haven’t agreed yet on a successor for car-loving Pope Benedict XVI, who resigned last month.

To make the election process smoother and faster, Citroen has thought of a simple, yet brilliant solution: fitting a particulate filter on the chimney. Problem solved – the black smoke has miraculously turned white!

Leaving aside Citroen’s funny way of telling us all its diesel cars are fitted with particulate filters, today was the second day in a row with black smoke coming out of the Sistine Chapel’s chimney, meaning the conclave will continue for at least another day.
