Are you ready to roll up your sleeves and dig deep down your pockets for a lot of spare change? That is, if you’re interested in the newly born 2014 Corvette Stingray Coupe, as today, the first consumer production examples were loaded onto trucks at General Motors’ Bowling Green Assembly plant and are now heading to Chevrolet dealer lots and showrooms across the States.

“It’s an amazing sight to see the transporters filled with Stingrays heading to customers in all corners of the country,” said Dave Tatman, plant manager of General Motors’ Bowling Green Assembly plant. “The pride at Bowling Green is overwhelming and it shows in the tremendous quality and attention to detail going into each one of these new Corvettes.”

The base coupe version of the 2014 Corvette Stingray Coupe comes with a 455-horsepower LT1 6.2-liter V8 and an affordable (from a mid-class and/or midlife crisis point of view) starting price of $51,995 including destination.

Again, all of the above apply for the coupe edition of the seventh generation Corvette, as open-air-lovers will have to wait until the end of the year for the series production of the Convertible model that starts from $56,995 including those pesky add-on D&H fees.
