Unlike other defunct motor companies, Delorean still exists, albeit in a slightly different form. XCAR visits the company which still keeps this iconic model still alive and let the people behind it tell their story.

After the factory closed down in 1982, a company called Consolidated international bought the huge inventory from the factory, including around 1700 to 1800 unsold cars. Stephen Wynne was able to purchase what’s left of this huge inventory in 1997 which included millions of parts for the famous Delorean.

To this day, you can buy new factory parts for the gullwinged ‘80s icon directly from the new ‘Delorean Motor Company’ in Texas. The next step for these brave men is to start building again these beautiful machines and taking advantage of their huge inventory.
