BMW has been teasing us for what it seems forever with this one, until some determined fans took matters into their own hands.

The guys over at Bimmerpost and more specifically at the 2addicts forum got their hands on a set of photos showing an Alpine White BMW M2 prototype and digitally removed the camouflage off it, giving us the first, legit look on how the most anticipated BMW of recent years will look like.

The same people claim they have more info on the final production model, saying that the turbocharged straight six N55 engine will make about 370PS (365hp) and 465Nm of torque (343lb ft), with an overboost function giving an extra 35Nm (+25lb ft) in the low to mid rpm range.

The new BMW M2 Coupe will have a six-speed manual gearbox as standard, with a seven-speed double-clutch unit to be offered as an option and will be available in only four colour options (Black Sapphire, Alpine White, Long Beach Blue and Mineral Grey). The cabin will be offered in only one trim option which is black leather with blue stitching according to the same source.

After the huge interest generated by the previous 1M Coupe, BMW is working hard to deliver what is already considered the spiritual successor of the iconic E30 M3.

What do you think? Yay or nay?
