Fighting fire with fire in drag racing circles makes for some really spectacular action, as this 911 Turbo S is about to find out.

This is one of those videos where we’d just hate to give anything away. What you do need to know is that the race was pretty close and that injecting 600 PS into an Audi TT RS will turn it into a straight line monster.

So why is this a case of fighting fire with fire? Simply because we’re dealing with the same successful recipe that made the 911 Turbo S an incredibly tough nut to crack when tuned. Like the 911, the TT RS is relatively light, has all wheel drive and will use every bit of its extra muscle to go from simply being fast to “Are you kidding me?” levels of fast.

Normally, there’s quite a bit between these two on paper. When stock, the 911 Turbo S will hit 100 km/h (62 mph) in 3.1 seconds thanks to its 560 PS unit, while the Audi can only manage a 4.6 second sprint time, with just 340 PS at its disposal.

On the flip side, this TT RS is almost twice as powerful as a standard model, and weighs roughly 150 kg (330 lbs) less than the 911 Turbo S.

Those are the stats pretty much. Less power (but not by much) and less weight (enough to make a difference). However, we wouldn’t blame you if you thought the Audi would steal the lead off the line and hang on to win, nor would we if you assumed that the tuned Turbo S would remain pretty much unbeatable.

There’s only one way to find out so…you know what to do!
