Even if chasing each other through traffic seems a bit dramatic, the point of this video is to showcase the overall practicality and cleverness of the Nissan Rogue.

For those living in Europe, the Rogue is a simple, yet spacious and modern compact SUV, called the X-Trail. In the US however, they call it as a mid-size crossover – though whatever you end up calling it should take nothing away from its usefulness on the road.

It’s a surprisingly roomy car for this segment, and it comes with clever safety features and above average interior quality, which is something Nissan has gotten better at these past couple of years.

So to think that this couple own two identical Rogues isn’t nearly as far fetched as having us believe they’d actually race home in order for the loser to be the one doing the cooking. Yes, believe it or not, that’s exactly what’s going on here.

Of course, along the way they encounter obstacles and what not (which is silly), but if you manage not to lose sight of the car’s real world strengths (which don’t include racing against time through traffic), you might be able to follow the action without thinking that no couple in their right mind would try to see which of them can get home fastest, especially after they just picked up family members at the airport.

All goofiness aside, the Rogue is a pretty good family car. In the US, you can buy it from as little as $23,040, where you still get a RearView Monitoring system as well as the Advanced Drive-Assist Display.

Further up the range you’ll find the SL version which comes with 18″ wheels, NissanConnect with Sat-Nav and Mobile Apps and the excellent Around View Monitor which is also shown during this video.

Perhaps the best part is that you can add an extra row of seats for $1,190, complete with rear privacy glass and 17″ run-flat tires as part of the same package.

Next time you think about a roomy family car, know that you can easily make a good case for the Rogue.
