Ever wondered what it’s like to own a smart Fortwo and hardly ever have to worry about where you’ll find a parking spot and how difficult it might be for you to get your car to fit? Here’s one way to know!

This video, entitled “smart effect”, is pretty clever. It starts off by showing us a couple of shots of people not being able to find a parking spot, which is enough to get viewers frustrated – knowing just how bad of a feeling this can be, especially if you’re in a hurry.

So what is the smart effect? It’s two cars shrinking when the driver backs into the spot between them. Yeah, it’s silly and pretty cool at the same time, and kind of makes you imagine what it would be like to have that type of freedom when you’re getting ready to park your car.

If you drive a smart Fortwo, you rarely stress yourself over fitting in certain tight spots, and you almost always get the maneuver right on your first attempt.

Smart does warn us that they can’t shrink all the cars, but for the sake of this video, two of them were sufficient. At the end, that Fortwo is wedged in there pretty tight – enough to wonder if it would actually be able to drive off again.

People who don’t dislike small to very small cars, or who can afford to have a separate car just for city driving (point A to point B stuff) would probably be thrilled to own a smart Fortwo.

It may not be the fastest, roomiest or the most masculine thing in the world, but it’s just as popular as ever.
