Chevrolet has introduced a mildly tuned interpretation of their Colorado Z71 Boss Edition truck sporting custom and concept styling touches at this year’s SEMA Show.

The 3.0 concept is based on the production 2016 Colorado Z71 Trail Boss in Crew Cab 4WD form painted in a Red Hot hue with matte black rally stripe graphics.  It also gets an illuminated front bowtie emblem in the grille, body-color door handles and mirror caps, plus rocker bars in black to match the 17-inch alloys shod in Goodyear DuraTrac 265/65R17 all-terrain tires.

Custom touches inside include a concept ambient lighting system, along with rubberized floor liners, a brushed metal interior trim kit and stainless steel sill plates. A sports exhaust system and a performance air intake under the hood round out the upgrades for the compact truck.

“At its core, the Trail Boss offers owners the gear-carrying ability and versatility they need to venture off-road, with segment-leading efficiency and capability,” said Sandor Piszar, director of Chevrolet Truck Marketing. “The Trail Boss 3.0 concept builds on that to show the choices from Chevrolet to help customers personalize their truck.”

Chevy said that it will gauge customer response to the concept and if positive, will consider producing these parts.
