1967 Camaro SS From Transformers 4 Bound For Auction

The original 1967 Chevrolet Camaro from Transformers: Age of Extinction will be auctioned off by Barrett Jackson at its Scottsdale auction later this month.

The car stars in the first half of the action flick as Bumblebee before it is replaced by a custom Camaro SS concept built specifically for the movie.

Since filming of the fourth Transformers installment wrapped up, director Michael Bay took ownership of this special restomod.

This Camaro is very different from others of the late 1960s as it’s undergone a range of extensive visual modifications. Most notably, it sports a widebody kit with massively flared wheel arches and a large front splitter. There are also (very) wide rims and tires, a number of matte yellow accents, Transformers graphics and a bootlid lip spoiler.

Under its hood is a large naturally-aspirated Chevrolet V8, while other custom components include brakes from Wilwood and a bespoke suspension system.

While many film cars feature poorly-appointed interiors, this one has been beautifully finished in black leather with white stitching and includes large braces along the side to strengthen the chassis.

The car will be sold without a reserve.
