If you ever wanted to drive a NASCAR on the public streets, now you can. Sort of…

This Super Street Series hand built 2009 Impala SS NASCAR tribute is on sale on eBay and could be yours for just $69,000. It’s New York titled, it has only 1500 miles and some test track testing (as the current owner says) and it’s re-engineered and built for street use on a 110-inch wheel base Cup NASCAR tube construction.

The amount of work that went into the car is formidable, as even the body was crafted in order to keep the entire rig’s weight town to 3,150 lbs (1428 kg). The hood, deck lid and roof were used from a NASCAR certified manufacturer, and more than 2000 man hours went into the build (not including research and development).

Powering the all-steel body is a GM “zz383ci” – that’s a Chevrolet small-block crate engine that delivers 460 hp in this particular guise – coupled to a Tremec 5-speed transmission. The vehicle also features full air ride system with remote, electronic boom tube exhaust, remote controlled doors, and seating for 4 with four-point race harnesses. Talk about creature comforts.

According to the description in the ad, the “full custom hot rod” drives and rides remarkably well on custom Good Year Eagle lettered tires which replicate the slicks.
