Alfa Romeo Giulia Can Be Customized With Mopar Accessories

With Chrysler and Alfa Romeo belonging in the same group, the former’s performance parts division has laid its hands on the brand-new Italian saloon.

Mopar’s line for the Giulia consists of almost 80 styling upgrades and includes the front V-shaped radiator grille and side mirror covers made from carbon fiber, joined by an aerodynamic body kit consisting of front lip spoiler, side skirts and rear diffuser.

Customized door lights with LED projectors are also part of the package, along with key covers available in three-layer car colors, white or red, tire valve caps with the Alfa logo, aluminum oil filler and fuel caps and specially developed alloy wheels, available in three sizes, ranging between 17- and 19-inch. The exterior can also be completed by a roof box and different carriers for skis, windsurf boards, kayaks and bikes.

In the cabin, Mopar has added a carbon fiber gear knob and the same lightweight material used on the illuminated door sill plates surrounds. Owners can also choose the folding luggage container and floor mats made from “elegant plastic”, as Alfa explains, and completing the collection is a number of active and passive safety features such as parking sensors, anti-theft wheel bolts and child seats.

That grille insert is pretty nice!

Oh come on FCA… at least name it ‘autodelta’ or the Alfa fanboys will cry with Mopar

    • europeon

I know but… it’s been already a few years now since the genuine Fiat/Alfa/Maserati parts come in boxes with the Mopar logo on them.

Just imagine if you went back in time 40 years ago and told an Alfa fan that you can have an Alfa Romeo customized with Mopar accessories

  • Classic Bob

Good thing Ferrari got out before Mopar started accessorizing it too..

  • fabri99

That’s silly. FCA should try to separate as much as possible italian products from american ones. You cannot have a Mopar Alfa Romeo, a Hellcat Ferrari and a SRT Maserati as much as you shouldn’t have a Chrysler Quadrifoglio Verde, a Dodge Scuderia and a Jeep Abarth. It just doesn’t sound right.

    • europeon

About that SRT Maserati… you remember Ghibli, QP and Levante are based on the LX platform, right?

And if things are going accordingly to Marchionne’s idiotic plan, the next Charger and Challenger will be based on the Giulia’s Giorgio platform – Allpar insiders say.

      • fabri99

Yes, but buyers aren’t supposed to see that. It’s not good for sales to know that a Quattroporte is based on the same platform as the 2005 300C. They can’t hide it, but they aren’t even showing it too much.

        • europeon

But we’re not part of the clueless car buyers crowd, are we? 😉

          • fabri99

            That’s also true.

    • Ed Ward

italians have never built a good reliable credible sedans until the chrysler based quattroporte. so far the chrysler affiliation is helping maser and alfa. the new alfa is based on chrysler engineering, worlds better than alfa’s past.

      • fabri99

There’s another thing though called marketing. Maserati is considered a luxury brand, Chrysler isn’t. So having Chrysler parts on a Maserati isn’t great, and it’s definitely better if not everyone really knows. You can’t hide it, but at least try to. And that’s what they are doing: in not one Maserati ad they praise the QP for having the Chrysler platform. It just sounds bad. Aston won’t tell you that their keys were straight from Volvos. For a reason.

I find this all super amusing. Mainly because of all the hard core Alfa fans that this is gonna piss off.

    • T_Cake

I wonder if Mopar has discussed offering the “General Lee” decal and heavy-duty suspension package for the Giulia. Alfa owners would really flock to that one.

      • europeon

Already has been done a few years ago.

        • T_Cake

          Wow. Just wow.

        • Tumbi Mtika

De Generale Lee. Now I’ve seen everything.

    • Ed Ward

alfa fans should remember that fiat trashed the brand with fwd garbage. mopar was their last hope and it seems to be workin for maserati. chrysler’s technology is actually more valuable than fiats rejected hardware.
