US customers will finally get the chance of owning one of the most fun creations on four wheels, the Ariel Nomad.

North American models of the jacked-up Ariel will be locally produced by TMI AutoTech in their Virginia plant.

The hand-built Nomad won’t be cheap though, with the company offering two versions: the entry-level Sport starts from $80,000 with the more expensive Tactical model offering adjustable Ohlins dampers, Alcon brakes and a hydraulic hand brake among others for $92,250.

The engine in both cases is a Honda 2.4-litre K24 producing 230hp at 7200rpm and 220lb ft of torque at 4300rpm mated to a close-ratio six speed manual gearbox while the weight figure is just 1480lbs (671kg). Ariel says that the Nomad is capable of a 0-60mph in 3.4 seconds, 0-100mph in 8.7 seconds and a top speed of 125mph.

Ace Performance, which is going to be the Northeastern distributor, has also shared a video showing the first US-spec Nomad being driven. It may not be cheap, but we doubt if there is anything that fun with an all-terrain capability like this.
