Set to kick off on August 19, the world’s largest community of VW Beetle fans will get together on Travemunde beach for the 12th time, joined by the automaker’s latest version of the iconic car.

Unveiled at the end of spring and equipped with different bumpers, tinted LED taillights, new alloy wheels, a brighter instrument panel and several individualization options, the facelifted version of the Volkswagen Beetle will be showcased at the 2016 Beetle Sunshine Tour.

However, it won’t be the highlight of the event, as the manufacturer will also present the new special Beetle Denim Edition, in cabriolet form, which will feature a blue denim-look soft top, paying tribute to the Jeans Bug that came out in 1974.

The 2016 Beetle Sunshine Tour will be, as in previous years, filled with events for the entire family and besides checking out almost 600 Beetles from different eras, most of which will be creatively decorated under the motto of “Crazy – not for squares”, visitors will be entertained by a rally, Miss Beetle contest, Beetle tossing, various DJs, live bands and parcour artists.
