2017 VW Polo Doesn’t Disclose Much In Recent Spy Pics

Along with the sporty GTI version, VW is also testing the regular next-generation Polo, which is said to improve on the current model in terms of comfort, interior quality and connectivity.

With more rear cabin space and better materials inside, the 2017 Polo will reportedly look to outclass both the next-generation Ford Fiesta as well as the current, yet still relatively new Opel Corsa.

Overall length is said to remain around the 4 meter mark (13 feet), though wheelbase size could grow by as much as 90 mm (3.5 in), thus improving cabin space.

In terms of power units, the 2017 Polo is rumored to get a pair of small 1.0-liter turbocharged petrol units, delivering around 100 PS and 115 PS respectively, while new 1.5-liter engines could boast around 140 PS and 160 PS in petrol form, and 90, 110 and 130 PS with turbodiesel power.

As with most all-new models, expect the next Polo to feature improved connectivity, clever on-board gadgets and more active safety systems than the current model. On the connectivity side, VW boss Herbert Diess said that the Polo could even get some facelifted Mk7 Golf features, once it comes out.

VW’s new 2017 Polo is expected to go on sale in the second half of 2017.
