With premium classes already well-defined and dominated mostly by the Germans, it seems the Cadillac CT6 is looking to attract buyers by blurring the lines between the mid- and full-size saloons in size and price.

According to Kelley Blue Book’s Zach Vlasuk, with the CT6 you’re getting a car that’s not quite on the same level as a Mercedes S-Class or BMW 7-Series, but is nevertheless larger and more practical than the midsize 5er or E-Class.

He asserts, therefore, that the CT6 doesn’t necessarily belong to a single category, which can be a good thing seen as how it’s both comfortable and surprisingly light on its feet considering its dimensions. In terms of cabin quality, you get pretty much what you’d expect from a luxury car, which is another plus considering how competent its German rivals are when it comes to that.

The CT6 is also practical, with loads of boot space, plenty of on-board safety and connectivity features and comes with a choice of three engines, though you might want to skip the entry-level 2.0-liter turbo in favor of the 3.6-liter naturally-aspirated V6 or the flagship 404 HP 3.0-liter twin-turbo V6.
