As Alfa Romeo’s engineers are getting ready to wrap up the development of the brand’s first-ever SUV, the Stelvio is just a week away from celebrating its global debut at the 2016 Los Angeles Auto Show.

Set to rival the likes of models such as the Audi Q5, Mercedes-Benz GLC, and BMW X3, it will reportedly go on sale in the United States in the first quarter of 2017, according to AutoNews.

The Stelvio will borrow its design DNA from the Giulia, with the  Italian firm’s sedan also lending its dashboard, center console and steering wheel, as revealed in previous scoops.

It may be too early to talk about the engine lineup, but previous reports indicate that the Stelvio will use a similar range of turbocharged four- and six-cylinder units to the Giulia, in either rear-wheel drive or all-wheel drive configurations, depending on the chosen grade, with the most anticipated version expected to use the 2.9-liter twin-turbo V6, which currently powers the Giulia QV.
